4 Reasons Your Milk Thistle Never Moved Your Liver Numbers

Milk thistle is the most clinically studied liver herb in the world. It is also the single most common reason people decide liver supplements do not work.

Both of those are true at once, and the gap between them is where most of the money gets wasted.

1. It does one job out of four

Silymarin protects liver cells from inflammatory damage. It does not manufacture glutathione, it does not clear fat from liver tissue, and it does not open bile flow. Protection alone does not empty a backed-up system.

2. The dose on most labels is decorative

Standardised silymarin has a clinical range. A great many products sit well under it, then list the herb prominently on the front of the bottle.

3. Capsules have to dissolve first

A capsule spends thirty to sixty minutes breaking down before absorption begins. A liquid does not.

4. It was given a fortnight to work

The liver repairs slowly. Enzyme changes generally show at the sixty to ninety day mark. Most people stop at three weeks and conclude it did nothing.
